Xbox Kinect Work With Old Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is one of the most popular game and console systems nowadays. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most problematic because of the notorious Red Rings of Death error. The first step in repairing the box is disassembling the Xbox. Remove the case first followed by the hard drive. In removing the case, place your fingers on the USB port and grab the case and pull its face plate off carefully. In removing the plastic pieces of the modem, extreme care should be applied because they are very sensitive.

After the face-plate is removed, the side-panels should be removed as well. In disassembling this, you should start with the side that is opposite the location of the hard drive. A paper clip should be used in releasing the 6 tabs holding the ventilation shield. You can see the tabs on the sides of the modem by looking at the little side holes. For a xbox 360 repair, this kind of disassembling need proper handling because you will be dealing with many screws and tabs. Now, the lower casing should be the next to go. This is easier to remove than removing the top portion because the latter requires more screws to be removed. In order to have easier access to the screws, the lower casing should be removed first.

When you find the screws, you will see that there are four tabs which can be easily removed just by using your fingers. You will also need pointed objects such as a knife or paper clip. After all the screws are removed, the outer screws should be removed as well by using a Torx T-10 screwdriver. You can buy this in any hardware store. The next step to Xbox 360 repair is removing the Eject button which is held by a tab on both ends. You can take it out by simply grabbing and pulling out the tab. When removing the screws, it is important to make sure that all screws are properly kept.

Other parts that need to be disassembled include the top casings. Your aim now is to get to the motherboard. The DVD/CD drive, fan shroud, and the 8 X screws are all holding the motherboard in place. This can be accessed by checking the screws located at the underside of the Xbox. Once the motherboard is detached, the heat sinks should be gently lifted from the board with the use of a flat headed screw driver starting from the corner to the center. Great care should be used while doing this because the heat sinks are considered one of the most sensitive parts of the mother board. Once detached, thermal compound should be applied after the old thermal has already been wasted from the GPU and CPU. After doing these, the heat sinks should be re-adjusted. The last step is to re-assemble the console.
